NANCY K. BROWN, M.A.H.S.
Licensed Professional Counselor Intern
Nancy obtained a BA in Philosophy from the University of Texas at Austin in 1970. Her Master’s degree in Human Services is from St. Edward’s University and she also studied counseling at the Episcopal Theological Seminary of the Southwest. She obtained her Licensed Professional Counselor Intern’s license in April 2007.
As a mid-life career changer, with extensive experience in Human Resources in the health care field, Nancy brings much real-world expertise to ADD Austin. She is an invaluable resource to those with AD/HD who are exploring career options that are well-suited to the challenges presented by ADD.
Nancy utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, mindfulness and meditation as therapeutic approaches with her clients. As a professional artist, Nancy also enjoys the use of creative therapies. This allows a whole-person approach to therapy.
As ADD Austin’s Cogmed Working Memory Training™ coach, Nancy supports the user and training aide, providing a professional service on behalf of Austin’s only Cogmed qualified practice. She can assist you with the successful utilization of this proven software-based program designed for improved attention.
Nancy enjoys working with both children and adults. She is the adoptive mother of two and has thorough personal experience with Autism Spectrum Disorders and ADHD.
