DIAGNOSTIC EVALUATION FOR COLLEGE STUDENTS (18+)
ADD Austin provides Academic and Diagnostic Evaluations for adolescents and adults who may need accommodations at their college or university. Most schools require psychological testing to document how a student may benefit from special accommodations (for example, extra time on tests or waiver of foreign language requirements). There are three parts to the Evaluation for College Students:
- Part One: Before meeting with the psychologist, you will be scheduled to come to the office to take two (2) computer-based tests and complete several questionnaires and forms. You will need to plan at least three (3) hours for this appointment. You will also be given a history form and questionnaire to be completed by one of your parents if possible. (We can also fax or mail this form to your parent if that would be helpful.)
- Part Two of the Evaluation involves an interview and testing with the psychologist. During the interview you will be asked about your concerns, your goals for the evaluation, and additional information about your history and current concerns. You will then be given a variety of psychological and academic tests by the psychologist. Part Two may occur in one or two appointments.
- Part Three is the Feedback session (45-50 minutes) during which the psychologist will review your test results and recommendations. You may wish to have your parent(s) accompany you to this appointment. You will be given a copy of your report at this time.
Because diagnostic evaluations and testing require several hours on our schedule, there is a non-refundable deposit required at the time your appointment is booked. The amount of the deposit will vary depending on the type of appointment. You will be given detailed information when you call to schedule your appointment.

- Plan to arrive early by allowing at least 15 more minutes than you think you need.
