This innovative program was originally developed by Dr. Tsukahara in the mid-1990’s when there were few resources available for adults with ADD. Over the last 10 years she has updated and revised the group materials many times, so members benefit from the most current understanding and treatment of ADD.
The Life 101 Group runs for 10 weeks and is intended for adults approximately 25 years of age and older who struggle with ADD, ADHD or related problems with executive functioning. Topics covered include:
- Understanding executive dysfunction
- Stress reduction
- Mood management
- Strategies for focusing & concentration
- Getting and staying on task
- Communications skills
- Time management
- Overcoming procrastination
- Organizational strategies
- Taming technology
- The impact of ADD on relationships
- And much more!!
The "Life 101" Groups are offered several times each year on Wednesday evenings. (See Local ADD Calendar for dates and times.) Groups are currently limited to 6 members. Members do not need a formal diagnosis of ADD to participate as long as they have similar difficulties. All participants must be screened before being accepted into a group.
